The latest version still has drainage channels for excess water (this goes through the perforated sockliner too) and lace loops on the heel and tongue for speedy pulling on. The Type A 3 improves the upper with a more breathable, air-mesh fabric. For improved support, the mini-ArchLock around the heel counter is reminiscent of the top-of-the-range Paramount 2. Essentially the Type A 3 is a fast shoe, it's light, offers good cushioning with top-quality Saucony Superlite EVA in the midsole, but still has great grip for wet roads.
